Fortigate Firewall Firmware Upgrade

Description:

Due to a discovered vulnerability, the Fortigate firewall firmware was upgraded. After upgrading, some features were discovered to be working at a reduced capacity. Upgrading to a newer firmware version is believed to resolve the issue.

Vulnerability Summary:

An out-of-bounds write vulnerability [CWE-787] in FortiOS may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code or command via specially crafted HTTP requests.

Expected Service Impact:

Intermittent and(or) loss of:

• Internet Connectivity

• Connectivity to Internal Servers/Applications

• External Citrix Environment Connectivity

• Access to Internally Hosted Websites (i.e. my.equitynational.com)

Expected Service Impact: ResWare servers and SQL Database will be restarted at 1pm.

• During the restart, ResWare will be inaccessible internally and via Citrix
• Additionally, my.equitynational.com will be inaccessible as well
• Expected downtime of ~15 minutes
